GAME DESIGN

FR_Langue.png

Creating board games is my way of combining creativity and family life. Many concepts are still waiting on my worktable to be launched on the way to publishing. Here are some rules that govern my choices in terms of projects and their developments processes.

Accessible games

I tend to create games that reflect my reality of a father of a youg family who does not have the time to play experts games. It must remain accessible, fun and surprising. I generally aim for a «family +» or «medium» range of difficulty level.

Strong themes

Development of strong and deep themes is un doubtedly one of my strengths as a game designer. Since I have some skills in graphic production, my prototypes embrace the themes I wish to convey to players.

Virtuals tools

The last few years have forced designers to work virtually. I personnally use the software TableTop Simulator to test several versions of my prototypes before they become physical iterations.

A group of designers

Once a week, I join an online designers group. We test and comment on the virtual versions of our prototypes. It changes a lot of things in our practice. These meetings become a driving force for the development and improvement of everyone’s projects.

Competitions & Events

With the return pf the events in attendance, my prototypes are found again in the courses of local contests, but also international competitions (USA, Europe). These are good opportunities to get feedback from the judges and get people talking about my projects.

Looking for a publisher

I will not try to self-publish my games. For me, there is an added value to the games that have gone through with a publisher. When a publisher commits to a designer or a project, there is a seal of quality that is added to the production. That’s what I’m looking for!
